The capital records its highest rise in Covid-19 cases on Sunday

With 74 more patients reported on Sunday, the capital recorded its largest growth in Covid-19 cases this month. The figure is more than double the average number of cases reported on the same day in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

After the reopening of outpatient departments on Aug 20, five doctors at the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (Pims) have also contracted the disease. The opening of private wards has been postponed by the hospital.

There were 74 Covid-19 cases registered in Islamabad on Sunday, according to data from the Ministry of National Health Services (NHS). Prior to this, on Sept 18, the largest number of cases reported this month was 46.
