On World Maritime Day, British High Commissioner, Christian Turner partnered with Commissioner Karachi Navid Ahmed Shaikh and the team UKinPakistan to clean Karachi’s Clifton beach. The envoy tweeted this on his official account, shared pictures of cleaning with everyone, and emphasized the importance of cleanliness in Islam with the hashtag #SafayeeNisfImaanHai. With the same motto in mind, Turner had earlier cleaned the hiking trek and picked up two bags of litter in Islamabad Margalla Hills.

After cleaning the trek, he also addressed the DC Islamabad Hamza Shafqaat and Clean Green Initiative introduced by the government of Pakistan urging them to keep the tourist spots clean. Moreover, Turner has worked in drew authorities’ attention towards the continuous littering of Margalla Hills after tourist visits.

In his tweet, he also wrote that oceans are the lifeblood of our planet but we often don’t see how they are polluted.

Do you think such dignitaries becoming part of the cleanliness drive would knock some sense into the heads of irresponsible citizens?
