According to the Independent, authorities in Wuhan, the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic, have officially prohibited eating all wild animals.

Local authorities in the Chinese city said that, along with the ban on consumption, Wuhan would become a “wildlife sanctuary” in which virtually all wildlife hunting was banned, with the exception of measures for “scientific research, population regulation, monitoring of epidemic diseases and other special circumstances”.

As part of the ban, the city has put in place stringent controls on the breeding of all wild animals, prohibiting any for food rearing.
