5 Pakistani Dramas That Inspired Us in Real Life


While the majority of Pakistani dramas are devoid of any moral or constructive lesson, some of them do teach us how to deal with various complex issues and situations in life. The characters in these dramas play their roles so deftly that we can’t help but be inspired by them. Here are five drama serials that left an indelible imprint on the minds of the audiences.

  1. URAAN (2010)

Written by Umera Ahmed, this inspiring story is based on the stories of three women whose lives are intertwined. Sana Hamdani (Aamina Sheikh) shows a lot of levels-headed, patient, and mature approach to life. Savera (Zhalay Sarhadi) and Ayesha Aleem (Saba Qamar) have also done justice to their roles, inspiring the viewers.

  1. KANKAR (2013)

This is another memorable drama written by Umera Ahmed. The main character, Sanam Baloch, is acting as Kiran, a confident girl from a humble background. She fights for her rights and self-respect and inspires many young women in our society even today. Maha Warsi is Arzoo, Kiran’s friend and cousin, and falls for her maternal cousin from a rich background (Sikandar). Sikandar falls for Kiran, whereas Adnan also likes Kiran. However, Adnan cannot propose to her due to financial issues. When Sikandar sends his parents to ask for Kiran’s hand, it leads to a series of problems between both families. How Kiran and Arzoo depict their strength to face life inspires many women.

  1. YAQEEN KA SAFAR (2017)

This story is written by Farhat Ishtiaq. It revolves around the stories of three households depicting three culturally different backgrounds and their influence on individuals. Each character in this story struggles against issues like sexism, political influences, rape, and other unjust matters common in Pakistani society. The lead roles are the Barrister (Shaz Khan as Barrister Daniyal Ali Khan) and his wife (Hira Mani as Gaiti Daniyal Ali Khan), who challenge these harsh realities and inspire many.

  1. EHD-E-WAFA (2020)

Written by Mustafa Afridi, this inspiring story is about loyalty and friendship. It depicts the goals, hopes, and aspirations people have, as well as the challenges and betrayals we experience in real life, at work, or in friendships. It is a story that touches us all because it is true for almost every one of us. We all experience such pain in life at different times. However, not all of us know how to deal with them. The lead roles are Alizeh Shah, Ahad Raza Mir, Osman Khalid Butt, Zara Noor Abbas, Ahmed Ali Akbar, and Wahaj Ali.

Umera Ahmed wrote this drama. It is about a struggling and rebellious film-maker with a disturbing past. The plot is about making the right decisions and choosing the right path.
