Recently, an old clip of Sonya Huyssn, one of the renowned actors of Pakistan, circulated on social media where Hussyn said that she would never have done Raees like Mahira Khan to be Shahrukh Khan’s sidekick in it. People didn’t take it seriously because the clip was more or less two to three years ago.
Unfortunately, the video caught the attention of the Oscar winner and she commented, “Don’t think you’ll ever be Mahira Khan so you won’t ever get to say no. Don’t diss other women in the industry; it reflects poorly on you and your upbringing.”
A few days later, Sonya Hussyn took notice of the event and politely tackled the whole situation. She took her Instagram and replied to Sharmeen’s comment on her story. She wrote, “I have never aspired to be Mahira. She’s excellent and amazing in her own right and I’m on my own journey.”
The legion of Sonya’s fans did not hesitate in criticizing Sharmeen. Twitter and Instagram were flooded with the comments of the public who retorted Sharmeen for bringing an old interview of the actress and lashing out at her. Many said that Sharmeen herself does not portray the correct image of Pakistan in the movies she has made and won Oscars for.
Feroze Khan showed her full support to Sonya and said these people do not decide her destiny.
Lately, Sonya was in the headlines when Mathira complained that Sonya passed a rude remark when she was dealing with depression. Upon which, Sonya called Mathira and cleared the matter to settle down the feud.
