The National Command and Operation Centre (NCOC) has eased down the restrictions and approved 100% crowd occupancy starting from Feb 16 in Lahore’s spell of Pakistan Super League 2022. The NCOC issued a statement that they have allowed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) up to 50% capacity in the stadium till 15 Feb and 100% from 16 Feb, including children under 12. Strict COVID-19 safety measures have been imposed as the spectators have been asked to be fully vaccinated.

Salman Naseer, HBL PSL Director stated, “We hail the decision of the NCOC who have accepted the request of PCB Chairman Mr. Ramiz Raja by allowing Under-12s to attend the remaining 19 HBL PSL 2022 matches in Lahore from 10-27 February. This will encourage the families to attend the high-quality and exciting matches in big numbers and be part of the cricket festival.” He added, “While the PCB urges the fans and spectators to strictly adhere to the Covid SOPs and guidelines, we encourage fans to urgently get fully vaccinated so that they can attend the matches.”

The NCOC took this decision in a meeting which was chaired by Planning Minister Asad Umar. During the meeting, issues such as health protocols, national vaccination progress, and the second phase of PLS were discussed.

Given the COVID-19 situation, do you think NCOC has taken the right step?
