National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) detected a cyberattack that led to the disruption in its services which will probably be restored by Monday. Major steps were taken to isolate the affected systems and thankfully, no financial data of any customer has been compromised.
The bank stated, “Remediation efforts are underway using industry-leading subject matter experts, including international resources wherever required. NBP has not observed any data breach or financial loss.”
The central bank said that the SBP is monitoring the situation and to make sure that everything is safe and sound in the banking system to prevent potential loss.
