In its detailed judgment on Tuesday, the Peshawar High Court remarked the country’s youth was using TikTok, a video-sharing platform, like an addiction.

The court, in the judgment, said that the ban on the app would only be lifted once “immoral content” on the platform is lifted.

“The young generation is using TikTok as an addiction. Many videos on TikTok are obscene, immoral, and contrary to tradition.”

During the hearing of the case, the Director-General Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), said since the app has its office in Singapore, the authority is powerless to censor, filter, or remove videos from the platform.
